Copper Phase

Metallic paint and mylar were both introduced to me by Mijanoux Atchison, a classmate of mine in second year painting at Ottawa University. Her work was very luxurious and rich. She wasn't afraid of colour, and loved her gold paint.

The gold didn't appeal to me as much as the rich red colour of the copper. Especially when played against ultramarine blue, quinacridone purple, pthlalo green and alizarin crimson. Perfect for conveying the rich, deep quality of dusk.
